We Make It Easy and Comfortable to Get Started With Us

Some medical offices make first visits kind of intimidating. We’re not like that. For instance, you won’t find a frosted window separating us from patients in the waiting area. You can see us. You can ask us questions. You don’t have to knock on anything just to be acknowledged — not for your first visit, and not for any after that.

Then, you’ll meet Dr. Neil Scharf. He’ll talk to you about what’s bothering you and conduct a thorough diagnostic exam. For example, he might ask you to turn and bend. He may test your reflexes. Depending on your condition and history, he might also advise you to have some X-rays taken. You don’t need to go somewhere else for those. We can do X-rays right in the office.

What Dr. Scharf won’t do is rush you through anything. You won’t find him edging out the door while you’re trying to ask questions. That’s just not his style. In fact, once those initial examinations are finished, Dr. Scharf will talk to you about his findings in detail. Don’t be surprised if he pulls out a model of the spine or even draws you some sketches. He wants you to understand how he arrived at his findings. In addition to specific spinal adjustments, your plan may include other therapies as well, such as massage, electric muscle stimulation, ultrasound, rehabilitative exercises and stretches, or an approach that combines several therapies.

How long your personal treatment program takes depends on your symptoms, your age, underlying spinal condition, length of time you’ve had your condition, and other factors. Dr. Scharf will discuss all of those facets and talk about how best you can build on success once your initial problem has been addressed.

Don’t worry about having to go somewhere else to make your program complete. Everything that you need to achieve chiropractic care is available right in the office. And, because we recognize that people have different scheduling needs, we even offer evening appointments and are open on Saturdays.

Of course, now and then an individual’s circumstances might call for consultation with a different kind of practitioner. If that’s the case, Dr. Scharf will explain why he believes you would benefit from an alternate method of treatment and he’ll make the proper referral.

Chiropractic is a team approach to better health. In our office, it’s also a comfortable, family approach. From your first visit to subsequent visits, we’re determined to keep it that way. Please call us at 954-227-0088 if you have any questions.
