Your Next Step to Building on Chiropractic Success!

When you come to Parkland Chiropractic & Healing Center, our first goal is to bring you relief from whatever is bothering you. In fact, relief is the first building block in chiropractic care. And, as you’ve probably guessed, in most cases relief means reducing pain, or banishing it altogether.

But chiropractic care is about more than just putting an end to pain — although that’s certainly an important beginning. Unfortunately, pain is typically a symptom of a larger problem and though it feels really good when it’s gone, merely eliminating pain doesn’t address the underlying causes for what started it to begin with. Without tackling those underlying causes — the principle of what chiropractic care is all about — pain rebounds.

It doesn’t have to be that way and the next step in an optimal treatment plan is what we call the “correction” phase, or second building block of your care. The correction phase is all about going beyond pain to treat those underlying conditions. The goal is to restore your body to its normal or maximum function. The education and extensive training that Dr. Neil Scharf received makes him qualified to apply specific adjustments to your spine, adjustments that correct misalignments and thus remove pressure from the nervous system that the bones of your spine protect. When your spine is corrected, pain is less likely to intrude.

The third building block in chiropractic care is the “wellness” phase. At this point, you probably feel like yourself again. In fact, you’re likely to feel better than you have in quite some time! The wellness phase is introduced to keep you there. Think of it in the same way you do when you bring your car in for regular maintenance, or when you schedule dental hygiene cleanings for your teeth. With chiropractic care, you took advantage of a holistic way out of pain and into a renewed state of health. Dr. Scharf will suggest an appropriate level of care to maintain the corrections made during your first two phases. We think prevention makes a lot of sense, but whether you opt to visit us every week, every month, or just at irregular intervals, we’ll always be there for you.
